Congleton Town extended their unbeaten run to four matches with a 3-0 victory over Mossley on Saturday. The game, played at Congleton’s home ground, saw the hosts take an early lead in the fourth minute when Rob Stevenson broke free of the offside trap and calmly finished past Mossley’s goalkeeper Fin Madigan.

Despite several chances for Dan Needham to increase the lead, it was Congleton who struck again after sustained pressure. Midfield duo Joe Woolley and Shakeel Jones-Griffiths combined effectively, with Jones-Griffiths delivering a precise strike that found the back of the net.

The first half concluded on a high note for the home side when Woolley scored his own goal by capitalizing on a long throw-in, slotting the ball home at the back post before halftime.

Although Congleton were unable to add to their tally in the second half, they maintained control and secured a comfortable victory. Their defense held firm to prevent Mossley from mounting any significant threats.

Joe Woolley, who played a key role both in midfield play and on the scoresheet, was named star man for his impactful performance throughout the match.

The win highlights Congleton Town’s improving form as they continue their campaign, earning positive results through disciplined pressing and efficient finishing.
