Consultations on Qatar’s National Human Rights Action Plan for 2026 to 2030 continued on Monday in Doha, officials announced. The sessions are being organised by the National Committee for the Preparation of the National Human Rights Action Plan, which is chaired by HE Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser al-Misnad, Minister of State for International Co-operation.
Monday’s meeting was hosted by HE Dr Abdulaziz bin Nasser bin Mubarak al-Khalifa, Secretary-General of the National Planning Council. Discussions focused on issues related to the remit of the National Planning Council, with participants offering recommendations to improve the action plan’s consistency with existing national policies and legislation.
The ongoing consultations form part of a wider process aimed at refining the country’s human rights framework, ensuring that the forthcoming plan reflects Qatar’s legal and policy environment while advancing commitments to human rights standards. The government has sought input from various stakeholders to develop a comprehensive strategy covering the next five years.
