A special ceremony was held at the Petaling Jaya district police headquarters in Jalan Penchala to fulfill the wish of four-year-old Hafiz, who is battling acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Diagnosed in February, Hafiz had anticipated a routine hospital visit but was instead met with a surprise organized by the police in collaboration with Make A Wish Malaysia.

The event featured a 36-member ceremonial parade and a sword salute in honor of Hafiz, who is fascinated by police cars. Following the parade, Hafiz enjoyed a police car ride with sirens blaring before receiving a child-sized four-wheel drive toy equipped with flashing lights to take home.

Hafiz and his twin brother, Hariz, participated in the celebration dressed in matching mini police uniforms. Their parents, Hilmy Mohd Nor Hamid and Nur Raudhatul Jannah Sila, accompanied them to the event, which also included a birthday cake to commemorate the twins’ birthday month in September.

Petaling Jaya Police Chief Asst Comm Shamsudin Mamat expressed his hopes for Hafiz’s continued resilience and recovery. He emphasized that the occasion was more than granting a wish for a toy; it symbolized the community’s compassion and support for children facing serious health challenges.

Make A Wish Malaysia CEO Irene Tan stated that fulfilling Hafiz’s wish was intended to inspire hope, courage, and strength during his difficult journey. The event was also attended by Selangor princess Tengku Zatashah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, adding a distinguished presence to the memorable occasion.
