The Council of Sultan Qaboos University convened its fourth meeting of the 2025/2026 academic year on Wednesday in Muscat. The session was led by Dr. Madeeha bint Ahmed al Shaibani, Minister of Education and Chairperson of the University Council.

During the meeting, members reviewed recent developments related to the university’s operations and assessed the implementation status of decisions made in prior sessions. A key outcome was the approval of updated academic regulations governing undergraduate studies. This update is part of the university’s broader initiative to continuously modernize its academic framework in alignment with contemporary standards and best practices in higher education.

Additionally, the Council approved amendments to admission policies for bachelor’s programs at the College of Education. These changes introduce new provisions to address tie-break scenarios among applicants, aiming to strengthen fairness and objectivity in the student selection process.
