The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has launched three new councils to enhance stakeholder involvement in Dubai’s private education sector. These include the first Dubai Parents’ Council, the first Dubai Educators’ Council, and the second Dubai Students’ Council for the 2026–27 academic year.
The Dubai Parents’ Council comprises 15 parents of students attending private schools, while the Dubai Educators’ Council consists of 15 teachers and education professionals. The Students’ Council includes 16 students from Grades 9 to 12 across private schools in Dubai.
KHDA received a strong response to its council nominations, with 131 applications for the Students’ Council, 152 for the Parents’ Council, and 160 for the Educators’ Council, including nominations from Emirati educators. Members were selected through a structured process that prioritized eligibility, fairness, transparency, and diversity.
These councils aim to align with the goals of Dubai’s Education 33 (E33) Strategy and its key initiatives such as Leaders of Tomorrow, Pathway Partners, and All Rise. By providing structured platforms for collaboration, the councils will enable students, parents, and educators to engage directly with KHDA. This engagement is intended to allow participants to share insights and feedback, fostering their role as strategic partners in advancing the quality of education within Dubai’s private schools and early childhood centres.
