Craig Revel Horwood, judge on the BBC One dance competition Strictly Come Dancing, has expressed anticipation of spirited exchanges with new host Josh Widdicombe ahead of the upcoming series. Speaking during his one-man show Revelations: Songs Boys Don’t Sing in Bridgwater, Somerset, Horwood suggested that Widdicombe, known for his comedic background, would likely respond robustly to the judge’s often sharp critiques of contestants.

“I think Josh is going to give me a whole bunch of s**t,” Horwood said, indicating that their interactions could be a highlight of the show. He welcomed the prospect of a lively dynamic, stating, “He is going to give me a real run for my money and I like someone that attacks me back.”

In addition to Widdicombe, the judge praised the other new Strictly hosts Emma Willis and Johannes Radebe. Horwood described Willis as “really good,” highlighting her professionalism, quick thinking, and attentiveness. He also noted the advantage of having Radebe as a presenter, given his dance expertise, saying, “The beauty about having JoJo is that he knows about dance.”

The comments come as the much-anticipated renewal of Strictly Come Dancing prepares to debut with a refreshed presenting lineup. Horwood’s remarks suggest that the chemistry among the new hosts and judges will be a focal point this season, promising engaging moments for viewers.
