A Queens man was fatally beaten in an apparent road rage incident following a minor traffic accident on the Belt Parkway early Sunday morning, police said. Crisanie Dockery, 47, was discovered unconscious at the scene and later pronounced dead.

The New York Police Department responded to reports of an assault in progress near Farmers Boulevard at approximately 1:15 a.m. Officers found Dockery severely injured, and a baseball bat believed to have been used in the assault was recovered. Authorities are actively searching for two suspects who fled the scene; one was reportedly wearing a black tracksuit with a striped pattern on the pants. As of now, no arrests have been made.

Dockery’s sister, Marsha Dockery, described her brother as a devoted husband and father of two sons, ages 13 and 21. She said he was on his way home from work at JFK Airport and was not driving the vehicle involved in the minor crash that preceded the violence. A second man, believed to be a coworker of Dockery, suffered minor arm injuries, though his identity has not been confirmed.

“This senseless act of violence shattered our family,” Marsha Dockery said. “He left for work that night, and we never expected he wouldn’t come back.” She urged anyone with information to come forward to assist the ongoing investigation. “The family is in shock and desperately hoping someone saw something,” she added.

Authorities have described the incident as a “senseless” road rage killing stemming from what was reportedly a minor accident. The Dockery family expressed disbelief that a minor collision escalated into a fatal confrontation.

“Our mother is struggling,” Marsha Dockery said. “Crisanie was the youngest and very well loved. His loss is devastating.” The family hopes the investigation will bring some closure.

Police continue to seek leads and encourage witnesses or anyone with relevant information to contact them as they work to identify and apprehend those responsible.
