Several people were injured during a crowd surge at the Ghana Party in the Park festival held on Saturday in Barnet, North London. The event, which celebrates Ghanaian culture, was cut short after a major incident occurred at approximately 6 p.m.

According to organizers, the festival was halted for health and safety reasons following the incident. Emergency responders, including multiple ambulance crews and two air ambulances, were present at the scene. Three individuals were transported to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening, while around 20 others received treatment on site.

Police reported that a small fire broke out near the festival’s entrance gates, leading authorities to temporarily close them. When the gates reopened, a large crowd had gathered, causing a surge that resulted in the crush. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson confirmed that the crowd dispersed without any further issues after the incident.

The circumstances surrounding the fire and subsequent crowd movement are under review. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the fire and the measures taken to manage the crowd during the event.
