The Cultural Club in Oman unveiled 19 new publications for the year 2026, underscoring its ongoing commitment to promoting Omani literature and intellectual output. The unveiling ceremony took place at the Club’s headquarters in Al Qurum, under the patronage of Mohammed bin Said al Balushi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Information.

Dr. Mohammed bin Ali al Balushi, Chairman of the Cultural Club’s Board of Directors, highlighted the institution’s ongoing National Book Support Programme, which was launched in 2006 to facilitate the publication of books, research, and studies across intellectual and cultural disciplines. The programme aims to nurture and disseminate Omani literary and scholarly works to a broader audience.

Last year, the Club received over 60 manuscript submissions, from which 19 titles were carefully selected for publication in 2026. This year, an additional 42 manuscripts are under review as part of the Club’s continued efforts to identify and support emerging and established writers.

The newly published works span a wide range of genres, including poetry, short stories, novels, children’s literature, and intellectual studies. The collection also features books on Arabic linguistics and dialects, Omani poetry, philosophy, culture, mythology, and the natural heritage of Oman, reflecting a comprehensive engagement with both creative and academic fields.

Among the new releases are five novels produced through the Club’s “A Complete Life” writing programme and workshops, an initiative designed to cultivate literary talent by providing training and publishing opportunities for Omani authors.

The Cultural Club’s latest publications exemplify its sustained dedication to fostering Omani culture and literature, aiming to enrich the nation’s intellectual landscape and increase accessibility to local literary productions.
