The Albuquerque Isotopes concluded their 2026 season on Sunday with a 14-7 defeat against the visiting Salt Lake Bees at Rio Grande Credit Union Field. Despite finishing with a 72-77 record, the team once again demonstrated its strong fan support, drawing over half a million attendees over the course of the year.
For the fourth consecutive season, the Isotopes led the Pacific Coast League (PCL) in attendance, welcoming an announced total of 502,073 fans through Isotopes Park gates. This average of 6,785 spectators per game across 74 home fixtures underscores the enduring popularity of the team despite the franchise’s ongoing struggle to secure a winning season. Since 2013, the Isotopes have not posted a record above .500, and this year they concluded tied for fifth place in the 10-team league.
The club recognized its standout performers during a ceremony on Saturday evening, presenting several annual player awards decided through a combination of team votes, front office input, and fan participation. Outfielder Zac Veen was named Most Valuable Player, while fellow outfielder Sterlin Thompson earned the Fan Favorite award. Charlie Condon, who plays both outfield and first base, received the Power Hitter of the Year honor. Left-handed pitcher Evan Shawver was awarded Pitcher of the Year, and infielder Chad Stevens took Defensive Player of the Year. The Mr. Hustle award went to outfielder Drew Avans.
Community contributions were also acknowledged, with relief pitchers T.J. Shook and Patrick Weigel jointly honored as Jennifer Riordan Co-Most Community Minded players. The selection was made by Brandon Ortega, the team’s community relations manager, highlighting the organization’s focus on engagement beyond the field.
Despite the team’s on-field challenges, strong fan engagement and individual player achievements marked the 2026 season as a noteworthy chapter in the Isotopes’ history.
