Customs officials at Kuwait International Airport’s Terminal 4 seized 33.5 kilograms of tunbak, a type of tobacco product, from an arriving passenger on October 27. The General Administration of Customs (GAC) reported that the tobacco was found during routine inspection procedures. The passenger was carrying the prohibited substance in two cartons.
The seizure reflects ongoing efforts by Kuwaiti customs authorities to enhance monitoring and prevent smuggling activities at the country’s entry points. Following the discovery, a formal report has been prepared, and the case has been referred to the General Department of Criminal Investigation’s Airport Investigation Division for further legal processing.
The GAC emphasized the continued vigilance of its inspectors and their dedication to safeguarding Kuwait by stopping the importation of illegal goods. Authorities also reminded travelers to adhere strictly to existing customs regulations to avoid legal repercussions.
