Customs officials at Kuwait International Airport intercepted a smuggling attempt involving nearly 10 kilograms of a synthetic drug on Wednesday. The General Administration of Customs reported that inspectors at Terminal 4 conducted a thorough search of a passenger arriving from a European country, uncovering a concealed shipment of the substance locally known as “chemical.”

Authorities discovered 1,197 A4-sized sheets drenched in the synthetic drug, with a combined weight estimated at approximately 9.6 kilograms. Following the seizure, customs agents prepared an official report and initiated legal proceedings against the individual involved.

Both the suspect and the confiscated materials were handed over to the General Department for Drug and Alcohol Control, which will oversee subsequent investigation and enforcement measures. The administration did not specify the passenger’s nationality or provide further details regarding the origin of the shipment. The operation reflects ongoing efforts by Kuwaiti authorities to combat drug trafficking through the country’s international transit points.
