Dagenham & Redbridge ended a winless streak with a 2-0 victory over Chesham United in their latest National League South fixture on Saturday. The match, held at Dagenham’s home ground, saw the hosts take control early and maintain their advantage throughout the 90 minutes.

The opening goal came in the 25th minute when midfielder Josh Addae made a decisive run down the right flank. He deftly lifted the ball over Chesham goalkeeper Ben Goode to give Dagenham the lead. Addae nearly doubled the advantage ten minutes later with a similar attacking move, but his shot went just wide of the target.

Chesham responded and created opportunities to equalize. In the 40th minute, the visitors produced two close-range efforts from Joe Andrews and Giorgio Rasulo, both of which were cleared off the line by Dagenham defenders. However, just before halftime, Chesham’s defense was caught out during a set-piece. A corner from George Marsh caused confusion in the box, allowing Remaye Campbell to tap in from close range and extend Dagenham’s lead to 2-0.

The second half saw Chesham pushing for a comeback, with Dubem Eze narrowly missing the target with a low shot early in the period. Despite their pressure, Chesham failed to convert several promising chances, including attempts by Alex Lafleur and substitute Craig Fasanmade, who were both denied by Dagenham goalkeeper Nathan Ashmore. Ashmore’s saves helped preserve the clean sheet and secure Dagenham’s first league victory since late September.

The result marks a positive step for Dagenham & Redbridge as they look to improve their position in the league standings. Chesham United will be left to reflect on missed chances after a competitive display that ultimately fell short.
