Daisy Edgar-Jones is set to star as Elinor Dashwood in the upcoming film adaptation of Jane Austen’s "Sense and Sensibility," scheduled for release in September. The 28-year-old actress, known for her breakthrough performance in the 2024 film "Twisters" and her role as Marianne in the widely acclaimed series "Normal People," recently appeared in a British Vogue cover shoot showcasing a range of period costumes designed by Grace Snell, the film’s head of wardrobe.

The shoot featured Edgar-Jones alongside co-star George MacKay, 34, who portrays Edward Ferrars, Elinor’s love interest. The pair wore carefully crafted period attire, bringing to life the early 19th-century setting of Austen’s debut novel. Edgar-Jones compared the dynamic between her and MacKay’s characters to the subtle, unspoken tension she portrayed with Paul Mescal’s character in "Normal People," highlighting a similarity in their understated emotional exchanges. She also praised MacKay’s appearance in Regency-era clothing, noting, “I’ve also never seen anyone look so good in breeches and a floppy shirt!”

Edgar-Jones, who has spent six years building her career in film and television, shared some personal insights in the interview, revealing her relationship with photographer Ben Seed. The couple, who live together in east London, have been together for three years after being introduced on a blind date. She described feeling “safe and happy” with Seed, who is 37.

The full feature, which includes the interview and photo spread, will be available in the August issue of British Vogue, set for release on July 14 through digital and print platforms.
