The General Retirement and Social Insurance Authority (Daman) has launched a new Financial Wellbeing Programme aimed at enhancing financial literacy among retirees in Qatar. The initiative, announced on Monday, is developed in partnership with the Qatar Finance and Business Academy (QFBA) and seeks to support retirees in managing the financial challenges that often arise after retirement.

The programme is designed to provide retirees with practical knowledge and tools to help them adapt to changes in their financial circumstances following retirement. It includes a series of three comprehensive workshops that cover key areas such as budget management, lifestyle finance, and long-term financial planning. Each workshop targets different aspects of financial wellbeing to address the diverse needs of retirees at various stages of their post-retirement life.

Daman emphasized that the programme aligns with the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030, particularly in advancing human and social development. By equipping retirees with enhanced financial skills, the authority aims to improve their overall quality of life and promote informed decision-making for sustainable financial security.

The initiative has attracted support from prominent financial institutions, with QNB Group serving as the strategic sponsor and Al Rayan Bank participating as the platinum sponsor. Through this collaborative effort, Daman intends to reinforce its commitment to the welfare of retirees by fostering financial knowledge and resilience within this population segment.
