Daniel Levy received a £27 million payout following his departure as chairman of Tottenham Hotspur in September 2023, after nearly 25 years leading the club. The compensation package ranks as the second-largest in Premier League history, surpassed only by the £35 million paid to Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia in 2022 amid the club’s ownership change.

Levy, 64, also earned approximately £61 million in wages, bonuses, and other remuneration during his tenure. His exit marked the end of a long period at the helm, during which Tottenham experienced significant developments both on and off the pitch.

Since Levy’s departure, Tottenham has invested heavily in new players, with summer expenditures exceeding £300 million in an effort to improve the team’s competitive standing. Despite this substantial outlay, the club has struggled in the Premier League, currently positioned at the bottom of the table.

The large severance payment and ongoing spending raise questions about Tottenham’s financial strategy and long-term direction following the change in leadership.
