Danny Kedwell has resigned from his position as manager of AFC Croydon Athletic, the club announced on Sunday. Kedwell, a former striker for Gillingham, AFC Wimbledon, and Ebbsfleet United, took over the reins at the Rams in February 2025 after leaving Ashford United. During his tenure, he led the team to the Isthmian South East play-off final last season, where they narrowly lost to AFC Whyteleafe.

Kedwell’s departure comes amid a mid-table start to their current campaign, with AFC Croydon Athletic sitting ninth after ten league matches, having secured five wins and suffered five defeats. The manager cited a “change in circumstances” as the reason behind his exit.

In an official statement, the club’s ownership, Danny Young and Wilfried Zaha, expressed gratitude for Kedwell’s contributions. They praised his dedication, passion, and the standards he set during his time at the Mayfield Stadium. “Danny has been leading the team since February 2025, and in that time he has given the club his knowledge, his energy and his passion,” the statement read. The owners also acknowledged his role in the development of players and the positive spirit he fostered within the squad. They wished him well for his future endeavors, noting that his departure is aligned with changes in his personal circumstances.

Separately, Tividale Football Club has announced a new management team following the exit of Jack Ball. Ball and his coaching staff left amid a difficult start to the Midland League Premier Division season, where the club lost 11 of their first 12 matches and currently sits at the bottom of the table. The club’s statement noted that despite collective efforts, the results were unsatisfactory and that a change in leadership was necessary.

The newly appointed management trio—Andrew Thompson, Matt Clark, and Arron Morris—have been introduced as Tividale’s leadership moving forward as the club looks to improve its standing in the league. The club accepted full responsibility for the prior results and expressed optimism about the new direction.
