New Zealand Football has announced that it will not renew the contract of Darien Beazley, who has served as the national men's team coach for the past four years. Beazley, 54, will conclude his tenure after overseeing the team’s upcoming friendly matches against two international opponents scheduled for November.

During his time as head coach, Beazley guided the team to the final qualifying round for the FIFA World Cup, where New Zealand recorded a notable 2-2 draw against Iran. His leadership marked a significant period for the squad, which was historically the youngest team at the 1986 World Cup and holds a current global ranking of 48th.

Despite the federation’s decision, Beazley expressed some disappointment at his departure, citing a belief that his team had the potential to achieve further success under his stewardship. The federation has yet to announce a successor as it moves forward with its plans for the national team’s development.
