Dartford secured their place in the third qualifying round with a 4-2 victory over Hayes & Yeading in their recent fixture. The match, held at Dartford’s home ground, saw contributions from several players, including a two-goal performance from Max Fiddes.

Dartford opened the scoring early when Ben Greenhalgh fired a low shot past Hayes & Yeading goalkeeper Rhys Forster. Hayes & Yeading responded on the half-hour mark through Amari Fashanu, who finished off a cross from Brendan Matthew to level the score.

Just before halftime, Dartford made a substitution, bringing on Ike Orji in place of Tyler Ibe. The first half concluded with both teams tied at 1-1, setting the stage for a competitive second half.

The visitors then took the lead ten minutes after the break when Kurtis Cumberbatch struck from 20 yards to make it 2-1. However, the Step 3 Dartford side quickly regained control, with Fiddes scoring the equalizer at the back post less than ten minutes later.

Shortly after, Jordan Higgs put Dartford ahead with a decisive finish, chesting the ball down before firing into the top corner. Fiddes completed his brace a minute later, converting a corner delivery to extend the home team’s lead to 4-2.

Dartford maintained this advantage to secure their progression in the competition, demonstrating resilience and attacking prowess against their lower-division opponents.
