Daryl McMahon has signed a new three-year contract with Hornchurch Football Club and has joined the club’s ownership group, further solidifying his commitment to the National League club. McMahon, who took charge in January 2024 following Steve Morison’s departure to Sutton United, has overseen a period of significant success for the Urchins.
Since his appointment, McMahon guided Hornchurch to the Isthmian Premier League title, securing promotion in his first season. The club then made history last year by winning the National League play-off final against Torquay United, achieving promotion to Step 1 for the first time in their history.
In addition to McMahon’s new contract and ownership role, Hornchurch recently appointed Rob Lee as their director of football, signaling further strategic developments at the club.
Speaking on his extension, McMahon expressed enthusiasm about his ongoing relationship with Hornchurch. He cited a strong sense of belonging and support from both his family and the club community, including chairman Alex Sharp and other staff members.
“With two promotions achieved, it’s an exciting time ahead for the football club both on and off the pitch,” McMahon said, emphasizing the progress made since his arrival two and a half years ago.
The club’s upward trajectory under McMahon’s leadership highlights Hornchurch’s ambitions and growing stature within non-league football circles.
