The Newcastle Christmas Market is set to return for 2026 with an expanded schedule and promises of a larger event than in previous years. Organizers have announced the market will run from Thursday, November 19 through Wednesday, December 23, spanning five weeks in the city center.
Last year’s market saw significant growth, including the addition of a new location on Nelson Street and popular features such as the Alpine bar Moosenwirt and igloos at Monument. This year, those attractions are expected to make a comeback, alongside a variety of stalls operated by traders now invited to apply for participation.
Family-friendly activities will also continue at Old Eldon Square, where the Family Village offers festive entertainment. In 2025, this area introduced Festive Flix, a series of film screenings that included holiday favorites like Home Alone and Love Actually, which may return for this year’s event.
While specific details of the 2026 event’s lineup have yet to be finalized, the organizers have announced their intention to build on the success of last year’s market, aiming to provide visitors with a festive experience that is “bigger and better.” The market’s expansion in recent years reflects a growing tradition of holiday celebrations in Newcastle, drawing both local residents and visitors to the city center during the winter season.
