Television presenter Davina McCall has disclosed that she has been diagnosed with cardiovascular disease, adding to her previous health battles with breast cancer and a brain tumour. The 59-year-old, known for her role as a judge on Masked Singer and former host of Big Brother, shared the update during an episode of her Begin Again podcast.
McCall emphasized the significance of cardiovascular disease, which affects the heart and blood vessels and remains a leading cause of death worldwide. She highlighted the increased risk of heart attacks and cardiovascular issues, particularly among postmenopausal women, urging the public to take symptoms seriously. “One takeaway’s not to brush things off. Get your blood pressure and cholesterol checked. If something feels wrong listen to your body,” she advised.
Her health journey includes the removal of a rare benign brain tumour in 2024, as well as successful treatment for breast cancer following surgery last year, after which she declared herself clear of the disease. McCall reflected on how previous illnesses can alter one’s perception of personal health, noting that it is common to feel invincible until faced with serious medical conditions.
By sharing her experience, McCall aims to raise awareness about cardiovascular disease and encourage proactive health monitoring, particularly for those in higher-risk groups.
