Formula One’s season finale is likely to be held at Imola, the home circuit of Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari team, should the planned final two races in Qatar and Abu Dhabi be unable to proceed. This adjustment comes amid disruptions to the championship calendar caused by ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

In response to the regional instability, F1 officials are working to finalize the inclusion of a new race at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia, tentatively scheduled for October 4. The Malaysian event is expected to fill the gap between the Azerbaijan Grand Prix on September 26 and the Singapore Grand Prix on October 11. Sepang, located approximately 40 miles south of Kuala Lumpur, last hosted a Formula One race in 2017.

Earlier in the season, the Bahrain Grand Prix, initially set for April 12, was postponed due to security concerns. While F1 had considered reinstating the Bahrain race as part of the revised calendar, uncertainty in the Gulf region has prevented this from moving forward. Instead, the proposed Malaysian event is anticipated to adopt the Bahrain Grand Prix title, with financial backing reportedly provided by Bahrain, effectively making Sepang the venue for the Gulf nation’s race.

The Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, originally scheduled for April 19, is expected to be removed entirely from the 2026 calendar. Despite these changes, the season is still slated to conclude with races in Qatar on November 29 and Abu Dhabi a week later, unless circumstances force further adjustments.

Formula One officials continue to monitor the situation closely and aim to confirm the revised schedule in the coming days to provide clarity for teams, drivers, and fans ahead of the final rounds.
