A group of former classmates from St Anthony’s School gathered in Teluk Intan, Perak, to mark a milestone reunion reflecting decades of friendship. Sixty-three members of the Class of 1973, now in their seventies, spent a day reconnecting through various activities celebrating their enduring bonds.
The reunion, themed “Once Classmates, Always Friends,” began with a shared breakfast before the attendees embarked on a scenic cruise along Sungai Perak. The gathering was characterized by a lively atmosphere, with participants engaging in singing and taking numerous photographs to commemorate the event.
A highlight on land featured the display of an orange Lamborghini sports car, which attracted considerable attention in the town. Guests had the opportunity to pose for photos and even test-drive the vehicle, adding an element of excitement to the celebration. The attendees were also honored with garlands symbolizing the strong camaraderie that has lasted over fifty years.
The evening program included a performance by a lion dance troupe from SJK (C) San Min, providing a vibrant start to a 10-course dinner served to the alumni. The dinner session featured several lucky draws and prizes, including a cruise for two to Phuket, Thailand, and airline tickets for travel to Japan, Taiwan, and Vietnam. Additional raffle prizes included cash awards, with the top prize being RM500.
Referred to by participants as the “70-Year-Old Reunion,” the event served as a tribute to lifelong friendships cultivated since their early school days at St Anthony’s, underscoring the lasting connections formed during their youth.
