Parkway Packaging and Printing Ltd, a subsidiary of DBL Group, has announced plans to raise approximately Tk78 crore through an initial public offering (IPO), proposing a share price of Tk40 each. The shares carry a face value of Tk10, with a premium of Tk30. The company submitted its IPO application to the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) on Monday, appointing Shanta Equity as the issue manager for the offering.
The IPO will be conducted under the fixed-price method, with 1.95 crore shares set to be issued. Parkway Packaging aims to list on the main board of the Bangladesh stock market. This move distinguishes the company as one of the few to pursue capital through a fixed-price IPO with a significant premium; the last comparable instance was Dorin Power Generations and Systems in 2016, which raised Tk58 crore with a Tk19 premium per share.
According to the IPO prospectus, Parkway Packaging intends to allocate the raised funds mainly toward infrastructure and equipment expansion. The firm plans to invest Tk65 crore in factory buildings and related infrastructure, Tk10.65 crore in machinery and equipment, and Tk2.35 crore will cover IPO-associated expenses.
This IPO aligns with DBL Group's broader strategy to bring more of its subsidiaries to the capital market to enhance corporate governance, transparency, and professional management standards. DBL Group’s Matin Spinning Mills is already a publicly listed company.
Parkway Packaging, established in 2008, specializes in manufacturing cartons and packaging products, primarily serving Bangladesh’s ready-made garment sector. The company operates with a daily production capacity ranging from 35,000 to 75,000 cartons.
Financially, the company reported a 13.49% increase in revenue for the fiscal year 2026, reaching Tk143 crore. Net profit stood at Tk16.83 crore, with earnings per share (EPS) of Tk3.74 and a net asset value (NAV) per share of Tk34.04. The company holds an authorized capital of Tk150 crore and a paid-up capital of Tk45 crore.
At the proposed IPO price of Tk40 per share, Parkway Packaging’s stock is priced at approximately 10.7 times its earnings per share, while the offer price represents about a 17.5% premium over its net asset value per share.
