Authorities have classified the death of a 14-year-old student at a sports school in Seremban as murder. The victim, identified as Muhammad Idlan Fareeq Shahril from Gemencheh, was found unconscious at the school hostel on Friday evening around 8 p.m. He was taken to Hospital Tuanku Ampuan Najihah in Kuala Pilah, where he was pronounced dead.

Deputy Commissioner Datuk Alzafny Ahmad, the state police chief, confirmed that a 16-year-old student has been detained to assist with the ongoing investigation. As of the latest update, police have recorded statements from 21 individuals, including students, teachers, and the victim’s parents.

Initial inquiries are being conducted under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which pertains to murder. Authorities are examining all relevant evidence and information to establish the true cause and motive behind the incident. Deputy Commissioner Alzafny urged the public to refrain from speculation or spreading unverified information, emphasizing that such actions could hinder the investigation and infringe on the privacy of those involved.

The Kuala Pilah district police chief, Superintendent Muhamad Mustafah Hussin, confirmed the discovery of Muhammad Idlan Fareeq in the hostel and stated that a post-mortem examination would be carried out at Hospital Tuanku Ja’afar in Seremban to determine the precise cause of death.

Deputy Commissioner Alzafny stressed the seriousness with which the police are treating the case, particularly given the involvement of students and the resulting loss of life. He also encouraged anyone with pertinent information to come forward to aid the investigation. Authorities have pledged to conduct the inquiry thoroughly and professionally to ensure justice for all parties concerned.
