Presley Gerber, the 27-year-old son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and entrepreneur Rande Gerber, died on Sunday at a rehabilitation facility in Los Angeles. Authorities are investigating his death as a suspected overdose, according to a statement from the Santa Monica Police Department.

Medical examiner records confirmed that an autopsy was conducted, but additional testing was required before a definitive cause of death could be determined. The medical examiner has not yet released an official cause.

Gerber was known for openly discussing his struggles with mental health and long-term addiction. In a 2023 interview on the podcast Studio 22, he spoke candidly about his desire to raise awareness and help others facing similar challenges. “That’s really what I want to do: help people, whether you’re depressed, you’re struggling with something that is having a negative effect on your body,” he said during the conversation. “I mean it could be anything, and there’s no judgment.”

Born in California in 1999, Presley Gerber began his modeling career as a teenager. He signed with IMG Models at age 15 and made his runway debut in 2016, appearing in Moschino’s Resort show in Los Angeles. Throughout his career, he modeled for well-known brands including Celine, Calvin Klein, Dolce & Gabbana, and Pepsi.

His death was first confirmed by Allie Jenkins, a representative for Crawford and Gerber, who requested privacy for the family during “this very difficult and painful time.”

Presley was the eldest child of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber and the older brother of model Kaia Gerber. The police investigation into his death is ongoing.
