Plans to revive the British television series *Fawlty Towers* have been put on hold following the violent death of American filmmaker Rob Reiner. John Cleese, the original co-creator and star of the show, revealed that development work on new scripts, which was underway at the time of Reiner's death, has stalled.

Cleese indicated that Reiner’s production company had expressed interest in the project and provided feedback on the initial script drafts. However, further progress has been suspended after the filmmaker’s passing. “It’s a slightly sad story because it was for Rob Reiner’s company, so everything’s gone a bit quiet,” Cleese said.

Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele, were fatally stabbed last December in their home. Despite the circumstances, their son, Nick Reiner, has denied involvement in the incident. Before his death, Reiner expressed enthusiasm about collaborating with Cleese, describing him as “a comedy legend” and noting that “just the idea of working with him makes me laugh.”
