Changan Automobile’s new energy vehicle brand, DEEPAL, has introduced a range of electric vehicles to the Omani market through Arabian Gulf Automobiles and Equipment (AGAE). The lineup features three models—the S05, S07, and G318—each designed to cater to different driving preferences while emphasizing extended electric range, intelligent technology, and comfort.
The S05 is a compact crossover equipped with a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated range extender engine coupled with a 27.28 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery. It offers a pure electric range of 160 kilometers under the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Cycle (WLTC) and a total extended range exceeding 1,000 kilometers. The model delivers 214 horsepower and 320 Newton-meters of torque. Its notable features include 20-inch alloy wheels, a 540-degree panoramic imaging system with transparent chassis views, a panoramic glass roof, augmented reality (AR) head-up display, a 15.4-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless charging, and smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The S07 targets customers seeking a more refined and spacious offering. It incorporates a similar 1.5-liter range extender paired with a larger 31.74 kWh battery, enabling a pure electric range of 160 kilometers (WLTP) and a combined range of approximately 950 kilometers. This model emphasizes comfort and convenience with a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen, AR head-up display, a premium 14-speaker audio system, heated and ventilated front seats, adaptive cruise control, and a 360-degree surround-view camera system.
For drivers interested in off-road capability and power, the G318 is an all-wheel-drive SUV featuring a 1.5-liter turbocharged range extender engine, dual electric motors, and a 35.07 kWh battery. It provides 430 horsepower, 575 Newton-meters of torque, a 138-kilometer WLTC pure electric range, and an extended range of around 848 kilometers. The vehicle offers 210 millimeters of ground clearance, a rear axle differential lock, off-road crawling modes, and the 540-degree panoramic imaging system, combining robust performance with practical comfort.
An AGAE spokesperson highlighted the versatility of the DEEPAL lineup, noting that these models enable Omani consumers to adopt new energy mobility solutions without sacrificing performance, comfort, or practicality. The brand’s emphasis on intelligent design and extended range technology aims to address common concerns about electric vehicle usability in the region.
