Dejan Kulusevski’s sentencing hearing for a speeding violation has been postponed after the Tottenham and Sweden winger submitted a note to the magistrates’ court explaining his absence. Kulusevski, 26, was caught driving at 43 mph in a 30 mph zone last September in the Limehouse Link tunnel in East London. At the time, he was driving an Audi.

The hearing was scheduled to take place on Monday at Barkingside magistrates’ court, where Kulusevski faced the possibility of a driving ban. The footballer already holds 18 points on his driving licence due to previous infractions. However, the court was informed that Kulusevski would not attend the hearing, citing work commitments in an email sent last month.

In the message, Kulusevski highlighted that his young family depends on him for transportation and that his commuting often occurs during anti-social hours. Magistrate Mary Millar expressed uncertainty about whether the email constituted a formal request for an adjournment, but ultimately granted a postponement.

The case is scheduled to resume on October 19. Kulusevski has been sidelined from professional football since May 2025 due to injury.
