A three-wheeled Reliant Regal van famously associated with the British television sitcom *Only Fools and Horses* is set to go under the hammer later this year, with an estimated sale price of up to £40,000.

The yellow Reliant Regal Supervan III, bearing the registration APL 911H, featured prominently in the first two series of the show, which aired between 1981 and 1982. It was one of six such vans purchased by the BBC for production, but this particular vehicle was the only one used consistently throughout all 13 episodes of the initial seasons. The van is marked by its distinctive “Trotters Independent Trading Co” signage, closely associated with the character Derek “Del Boy” Trotter and his fictional market trading business.

The 1969 model has traveled approximately 97,000 miles and is capable of reaching a top speed of 55 miles per hour. After its television career, the van passed into private ownership and was subsequently restored to match its television appearance. Restoration efforts included repainting the bonnet, hatch, bumpers, and wings in grey primer, refurbishing the distinctive animal print interior, and applying red paint to the doors, all faithful to its on-screen look.

In addition to the van itself, the auction will include a range of related memorabilia such as a replica Harrison watch and a novelty cheque made payable to the characters D Trotter and R Trotter for £6.2 million, referencing a well-known plot point from the show.

The vehicle and associated props will be offered at Iconic Auctioneers’ Classic Sale, scheduled to take place at the NEC Classic Motor Show in Birmingham on November 15. Experts anticipate the sale price will fall between £30,000 and £40,000, underscoring the enduring popularity of the series and its iconic van.
