Deliveroo has appointed Vasilis Hadjiaslanis as General Manager for its Middle East operations, the company announced Tuesday. In his new role, Hadjiaslanis will oversee the business across the region and collaborate with DoorDash’s international teams to drive growth among consumers, merchants, and riders.

Miki Kuusi, CEO of DoorDash International, highlighted the strategic importance of the Middle East market, expressing confidence in Hadjiaslanis’s expertise in scaling consumer and marketplace businesses. Kuusi emphasized that Hadjiaslanis’s leadership marks the next phase of growth for Deliveroo in the region.

Hadjiaslanis, a longtime Deliveroo user who has now joined the company, said he aims to build on the company’s existing momentum by deepening engagement across all sides of the marketplace. He specified that combining local market knowledge with DoorDash’s global technology and experience will be key to accelerating expansion.

Hadjiaslanis brings more than a decade of experience in the technology and marketplace sector within the Middle East and Africa. Before joining Deliveroo, he served as General Manager of Bolt in the UAE, where he spearheaded growth through a joint venture with Dubai Taxi Company. Prior to Bolt, he spent over seven years in leadership roles at Uber, including interim General Manager positions in the UAE, Jordan, and Lebanon.

Deliveroo has operated in the Middle East for over ten years, initially launching in the UAE in 2015 and extending to Kuwait in 2019. The company has since expanded its services beyond restaurant deliveries to include grocery and retail sectors. In 2025, Deliveroo surpassed 100 million orders in the region and formally became part of DoorDash following an acquisition completed the same year.
