Car accessory and heat insulation shops across Qatar are reporting a marked increase in demand for thermal window tinting and vehicle body protection services as summer temperatures rise. Industry retailers and shop managers noted that interest in thermal insulation products typically intensifies from early May, coinciding with the onset of hotter weather.

Thermal insulation films, valued for their ability to reduce heat penetration and block harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays, have become highly sought after for preserving vehicle interiors and protecting exterior paintwork. Experts highlight that Qatar’s market offers a wide range of insulation materials and paint protection films, which vary in quality, efficiency, and warranty terms. Many consumers are increasingly opting for premium products despite their higher cost, viewing them as a long-term investment that can reduce maintenance expenses and improve fuel efficiency.

Prices for these services vary depending on the materials used and the service level provided. Basic thermal insulation packages start at around QR200, while premium offerings can reach QR600. Comprehensive full-body vehicle protection packages may exceed QR7,000, according to traders.

Mahmoud Dioub, sales manager at a specialised automotive accessories store, attributes the growing demand to heightened consumer awareness about the benefits of thermal insulation. He emphasized the availability of globally recognised brands that provide high heat-rejection performance without compromising driver visibility or breaching traffic regulations. Dioub also noted that customers increasingly prioritize warranty coverage and the reputation of service providers, especially amid concerns about some companies ceasing operations prematurely and leaving customers without post-sale support.

Adherence to technical and legal standards remains a key concern. Ahmed Mosleh, a shop manager, stressed the importance of complying with legally permitted tinting percentages stipulated in vehicle registration documents. He also emphasized the need to follow safety protocols during the installation process to ensure compliance and road safety.

Traders also reported that prices tend to rise during the summer due to higher demand. Service quality differences among shops—including installation conditions, turnaround times, and customer service—also influence pricing. Mohamed Faisal, sales manager at another specialised outlet, noted that customer recommendations and prior experiences heavily influence purchasing decisions. He said Qatari consumers generally prefer established, reputable shops to ensure quality workmanship and reliable warranty support.

Technicians caution vehicle owners to avoid counterfeit or low-quality products, warning that extreme heat can degrade inferior insulation materials, potentially damaging the vehicle body and negatively impacting its appearance. As the summer season progresses, the thermal window tinting and vehicle protection market in Qatar is expected to remain robust, driven by consumer emphasis on comfort, durability, and compliance with regulations.
