The Aung Bar Lay Lottery Division of the Internal Revenue Department under the Ministry of Finance and Revenue announced on May 29 that deposits paid by authorized lottery ticket sellers for the 2025-2026 financial year will be refunded. Ticket sellers who entered into contracts for this period paid a deposit of K200 per pack every three months, based on the volume of lottery tickets they were authorized to sell.
Since these contracts are valid solely for the 2025-2026 fiscal year, the division is now processing refunds of the deposits collected. To receive a refund, lottery ticket sellers are required to submit several documents, including the original or a copy of the payment slip for the deposit, a copy of the contract, registration documents, and the original or a copy of the household list. Additionally, claimants must file their refund requests in person, attaching a K300 revenue stamp to their claim.
Claims for refunds can be submitted at the Accounts Section of the Aung Bar Lay Lottery Division from June 1 through June 30. The department emphasized the need for timely submission to ensure proper processing of refunds.
