Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani, Deputy Amir of Qatar and Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Qatar University, presided over the first meeting of the Board for the 2026-2027 academic year. The session took place at the Amiri Diwan on October 12.
During the meeting, members reviewed the progress made in implementing the decisions and recommendations issued at the fourth meeting of the previous academic year. The Board then examined the agenda items and made corresponding decisions.
Among the key outcomes was the approval of a new Master of Science program in Clinical Practice, focusing on health and medical sciences. In addition, the Board sanctioned several academic programs across diverse fields, including Early Childhood education, Environmental Sciences, and Data Science.
These developments align with Qatar University's ongoing efforts to expand and diversify its academic offerings to meet evolving educational and research demands. The Board’s decisions are expected to underpin the institution’s mission to enhance higher education infrastructure within the country.
