Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs, HE Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al Thani, met with Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC), and his delegation in Doha on Tuesday. The discussions focused on recent security developments in the Gulf region as well as opportunities for enhanced military cooperation and joint coordination under current regional conditions.
The visit by Albudaiwi to Qatar was made at the invitation of the Joaan Bin Jassim Academy for Defence Studies, where he delivered a lecture titled “Political and international transformations and their impact on the Arabian Gulf” to participants of the 6th national defence course. Following the lecture, attendees engaged in a detailed discussion addressing the key themes and issues highlighted by the GCC secretary-general.
The meeting and associated events underscore ongoing efforts by GCC member states to strengthen collaboration and maintain stability amid shifting geopolitical dynamics in the region.
