Keighley Town is searching for a new manager following the resignation of Des Hazel, who stepped down after the club endured an 11-match losing streak that left them at the bottom of the Northern Counties East Premier Division. Hazel, a former Saint Kitts and Nevis international and ex-head of youth development at FC Halifax Town, had taken charge of the team in May.

Previously known as Eccleshill United before relocating to Keighley, the Eagles also exited both the FA Cup and FA Vase competitions in the opening rounds this season. The club released a statement acknowledging Hazel’s professional and international experience but emphasized the need for a leadership change to reverse the team’s recent downturn and protect the club’s ambitions for the remainder of the campaign.

Chairman Charlie Wysocki described the decision as regrettable, praising Hazel as a respected figure who was aligned with the club’s long-term goals. He noted that football remains a results-driven enterprise and thanked Hazel for his efforts during his tenure, wishing him success in his future endeavors.

Keighley Town is now inviting applications from qualified coaches holding the necessary certifications and with proven managerial experience to take over the first-team role.
