A diagnostic centre in Dhaka’s Paltan area was sealed by a mobile court after being found to conduct unauthorized medical tests and issue reports for workers traveling to Malaysia. The Human Diagnostic and Medical Centre, located on Box Culvert Road, was shut down on Thursday following an inspection that revealed it had issued test reports for 14 Malaysia-bound workers between September 20 and 30 without obtaining the necessary government approval, according to a press release from the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment.

During the operation, authorities also discovered that the centre appeared to be operating under a different name, Sambiia Diagnostic Centre, using a separate signboard within the same building. These irregularities led the mobile court to seal the facility to prevent further unauthorized activities.

Ariful Haque Choudhury, the Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister, emphasized the government’s firm stance against fraudulent practices in the overseas employment sector. He noted that there is a zero-tolerance policy regarding irregularities and deception involving migrant workers. “The government would not allow any institution to deceive workers seeking employment in Malaysia,” he stated.

The minister also warned that strict legal measures would be enforced against entities issuing fake or fraudulent medical reports. He added that surprise inspections and mobile court drives would continue nationwide with the aim of safeguarding the interests of migrant workers and ensuring transparency within the sector.
