Phil&Ben Productions has teamed up with PW Productions to launch a new regional theatre tour featuring Frederick Knott’s classic thriller Dial M for Murder. The tour is set to begin on July 2 at the Devonshire Park Theatre in Eastbourne, marking an effort to bring high-quality drama to venues outside the UK’s major cities.
The collaboration aims to address financial challenges that many regional theatres face when staging productions. PW Productions’ Iain Gillie highlighted that the issue is often not a lack of audience interest, but the economic risks involved in presenting live drama. By partnering with Phil&Ben, PW Productions seeks to create a sustainable model focused on collaboration and audience development, supporting the continued viability of touring productions in smaller towns.
Phil&Ben Productions emphasized their commitment to providing regular access to exceptional live theatre for audiences in towns and smaller cities, where such opportunities can be limited compared to metropolitan areas.
The production stars Tanya-Loretta Dee as Margot Wendice and Pete Ashmore as Tony Wendice. The announcement encourages theatregoers to secure tickets for the performance, underscoring the enduring appeal of Knott’s suspenseful play and the benefits of expanding theatrical offerings across the UK.
