Dialog Group Bhd has received final investment decision approval from Petroliam Nasional Bhd (PETRONAS) to develop and abandon the RAJA Cluster Small Field Asset, with a planned investment of US$81 million (RM330 million). The approval was granted on September 21, marking a significant step forward for the project.

Dialog Resources Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Dialog Group, entered into a production sharing contract with PETRONAS for the RAJA Cluster Small Field Asset on December 5, 2024. The contract spans 14 years and outlines a structured timeline for the project’s execution.

The initial two years of the agreement are designated for pre-development activities, including conducting feasibility studies. This will be followed by a two-year development phase, after which the first commercial production is expected to commence. Production will then continue for the remaining 10 years of the contract or until the contract expires, whichever occurs first.

Dialog has indicated that funding for the project will be sourced from internally generated cash flow and potentially supplemented by external borrowings, ensuring adequate financial support for the entire project lifecycle. The development represents a key investment in Malaysia’s oil and gas sector, aligning with PETRONAS’s strategy to maintain and optimize small field assets.
