London City Lionesses have bolstered their squad by signing French forward Kadidiatou Diani from Olympique Lyonnais on a three-year contract. The 31-year-old attacker becomes the club’s fourth major summer acquisition following the arrivals of former goalkeeper Mary Earps, Barcelona defender Mapi León, and two-time Ballon d’Or winner and Spain midfielder Alexia Putellas.
Diani joins the Lionesses after a successful spell with Lyon, where she played a key role in guiding the team to the Women’s Champions League final last season. Her transfer underscores London City Lionesses’ ambition as they continue to establish themselves in England’s top tier.
The club, which earned promotion to the Women’s Super League (WSL) in 2025, operates as the only fully independent team in the division, functioning without ties to a men’s football team. This independence has allowed them to carve out a distinct identity within the competitive landscape of English women's football.
With Diani’s experience and proven track record at the highest levels of European football, London City Lionesses aim to strengthen their attacking options and build on their recent progress as they seek to compete among the WSL’s elite in the coming seasons.
