Didcot Town secured a victory over Winchester City in their FA Trophy fixture on Tuesday, advancing through a penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw in regular time. The win marked Didcot’s second cup success over Winchester within a week.

Winchester City began the match strongly, with Olly Balmer putting Didcot ahead early on with a well-placed 20-yard shot. Despite the early setback, Winchester continued to press and came close to doubling their lead before halftime, with a shot rattling against the post.

After the break, Didcot improved their performance and managed to level the score under unusual circumstances. Keeper Danny Dixon misjudged a corner taken by Lochlan Colquhoun, inadvertently punching the ball into his own net. The own goal shifted momentum, and both teams battled through a tense concluding period without further scoring.
