Elsewhere in European qualifiers, Larne, the Northern Irish champions, were defeated 4-0 at home by Serbian club Red Star Belgrade. Bruno Duarte scored twice for Red Star, adding to goals from Vasilije Kostov and Muhammed Cham. Meanwhile, Shamrock Rovers suffered a 2-0 loss in their away match against Ararat-Armenia.
