The Government Internal Audit Agency (GIAA) is recruiting a new director of transformation and assurance to join its executive committee and lead a key directorate within the organisation. The GIAA provides independent assurance, insight, and advice to around 140 public sector bodies, including most UK government departments.

The appointed director will oversee specialist assurance services across a range of areas such as digital, data and technology, major transformation programmes, and project delivery. This leadership role involves shaping strategic responses to some of the most complex challenges confronting the public sector.

The agency is seeking candidates with significant experience leading large-scale, technology-driven change in complex environments. Suitable backgrounds include senior leadership roles in audit, assurance, risk management, transformation, consulting, digital and technology sectors, or operational delivery. The successful candidate will also be expected to demonstrate a strong ability to build and manage high-performing teams.

Applications for the position must be submitted by November 9. Further details and the application process are available through the agency’s official appointment portal.
