Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Adventure will begin making a port call at Langkawi, Malaysia, starting December 31, marking its first destination stop since debuting in March 2026. The cruise ship, which has been offering primarily “cruises to nowhere” from its homeport in Singapore, will incorporate the Malaysian island as part of selected four-night sailings scheduled between September and December 2027.
The addition of Langkawi provides guests the opportunity to disembark and explore one of Southeast Asia’s notable island destinations, complementing the cruise’s focus on family-friendly and nature-based experiences. The vessel will visit Langkawi on the third day of the voyage, while the rest of the itinerary will still feature days spent at sea.
Langkawi, known for its pristine beaches, turquoise waters, and distinctive limestone formations, is Southeast Asia’s first UNESCO Global Geopark, with geological features dating over 550 million years. The island is popular for activities such as island-hopping, water sports, and exploring rainforests. It also offers a local culinary scene highlighting fresh seafood and traditional Malay dishes.
Disney Cruise Line plans to offer Port Adventures—shore excursions and activities—in Langkawi. These will be available for viewing and booking on the company’s website starting August 26 at 10 p.m. The excursions will be arranged through independent third-party operators and will include a variety of activities and price points, similar to those offered at other ports such as Christchurch, New Zealand, and Crete, Greece.
The Disney Adventure is Disney Cruise Line’s largest vessel, accommodating up to 6,700 passengers across its 20 decks, featuring seven themed areas. It serves as the company’s first dedicated ship in Asia, with a commitment to homeporting in Singapore for at least five years beginning in 2026.
Pricing for the four-night cruises varies depending on the inclusion of the Langkawi stop. Fares for sailings without a port visit start at $1,620 per person in January 2027, while those including Langkawi begin at $1,915 per person. The higher fare reflects additional port fees, taxes, and related costs associated with docking at Langkawi.
This itinerary update offers guests a chance to experience new destination-based activities as part of their Disney Adventure, expanding the cruise line’s offerings in the Asia-Pacific region beyond its initial itineraries focused entirely on onboard entertainment.
