Another Malaysian diver, 20-year-old Yong Rui Jie, finished 14th out of 15 competitors in the men’s 1m springboard with 197.75 points. Yong previously earned a surprise bronze medal alongside Nurqayyum Nazmi Mohd Nazim in the men’s 3m springboard synchronized event on Saturday. He will also compete in the individual 3m springboard event on Tuesday, aiming to improve on his current standing.

On the women’s side, Malaysian diver Ong Ker Ying secured sixth place in the 1m springboard event with a score of 208.85. Ong and her partner Lee Yiat Qing captured bronze in the women’s 3m springboard synchronized event on Sunday, and Ong will compete in the individual 3m springboard event on Tuesday as well.

The Asian Games diving competitions continue to showcase strong performances by Chinese and South Korean athletes, while Malaysia seeks to build on its recent medal successes in synchronized events.
