The Los Angeles Dodgers placed right-handed reliever Blake Treinen on the 15-day injured list due to inflammation in his right elbow. Treinen, who pitched a scoreless ninth inning to secure the Dodgers’ 6-5 victory on Friday, initially felt normal after the game. However, he experienced difficulty fully extending his right arm upon waking the following morning, leading to medical evaluation and subsequent placement on the injured list.

Manager Dave Roberts indicated that while the exact diagnosis was pending as of Saturday evening, the team anticipated a period of rest rather than more intensive treatment. “He’ll be down for a minute,” Roberts said, emphasizing that rest was the priority over any invasive intervention. Treinen entered the injury period with a 3.52 earned run average, demonstrating significant improvement after a difficult 2025 season.

To fill Treinen’s roster spot, the Dodgers recalled right-hander Chayce McDermott. The 27-year-old reliever has pitched just one inning at the major league level this season, during which he allowed only one hit in a scoreless appearance against the Los Angeles Angels. Acquired from the Baltimore Orioles in mid-April after being designated for assignment, McDermott has primarily served as a short-term call-up and taxi squad member for the Dodgers.

The team also anticipates additional bullpen reinforcements in the near future. Roberts stated that right-hander Brock Stewart, who has been sidelined due to a bone spur in his left foot, is expected to be activated from the injured list by Monday. Furthermore, right-hander Evan Phillips, currently recovering from Tommy John surgery, is projected to return in early July, potentially bolstering the Dodgers' relief options in the coming weeks.
