DoorDash is expanding its presence in the clothing retail sector by partnering with several well-known brands and enhancing its return service. The San Francisco-based delivery company announced on Wednesday that it will collaborate with Macy’s, Anthropologie, The North Face, Vans, and Timberland to offer their products through DoorDash’s U.S. website. Customers can expect delivery within as little as an hour.
While Macy’s has previously utilized DoorDash for same-day delivery of orders, the new agreement formalizes the partnership and allows Macy’s to list its merchandise directly on the DoorDash platform. This move aims to streamline the shopping experience and increase retailer access to DoorDash’s delivery network.
In addition to same-day delivery, DoorDash is introducing a flat-fee return service priced at $7.99. This service enables drivers to pick up and return items purchased through the app, marking a significant step toward simplifying the returns process for customers. After testing the return service in selected U.S. markets, DoorDash plans to implement it nationwide starting in November.
Originally launched in 2013 as a restaurant delivery company, DoorDash has steadily diversified its offerings. It expanded into grocery delivery in 2020 and has now set its sights on becoming a broader platform for retail delivery, including clothing and accessories. With this latest expansion, the company seeks to leverage its existing logistics infrastructure to capture a larger share of the growing e-commerce delivery market.
