Dorchester secured a late victory over Hartpury in a closely contested non-league match on Sunday. Hartpury took the lead in the first half after 23 minutes when Ryan McGregor’s long pass found Christopher Manning, who lobbed Dorchester goalkeeper Ryan Hall to put the visitors ahead.
Throughout the opening 45 minutes, Hartpury dominated possession and created several chances. Seth Locke, Dorchester’s goalkeeper, made key saves, including a well-placed free-kick from Matty Burrows and a low shot from Ethan Taylor. Kian Davies, who was a standout performer for Hartpury, also came close when his shot struck the Dorchester crossbar. McGregor had an opportunity but fired wide of the near post.
Dorchester responded strongly in the second half, with Matty Burrows leveling the score in the 56th minute after rounding Locke and finishing with composure. The match remained tightly contested as both sides pushed for a winner.
The decisive moment came in injury time when Nathan Jenkins of Dorchester was penalized for tripping Ethan Taylor inside the penalty area. Taylor successfully converted the resulting spot-kick, sealing a 2-1 victory for Dorchester and leaving Hartpury to rue missed opportunities.
Kian Davies was named star man for Hartpury for his overall impact during the match, despite his side’s late defeat.
