Walton & Hersham remain without a point this National League South season following a 4-1 home defeat to Dorking Wanderers on Saturday. The loss marked their fifth consecutive defeat, prolonging an early-season struggle for the hosts.

The match began brightly for Walton & Hersham as they took an early lead in the seventh minute. A well-delivered ball into the penalty area was cut back, allowing Matas Skarna to finish confidently and give the hosts an early advantage.

Dorking Wanderers responded strongly and sought an equalizer throughout the first half. Brennan Camp and Harry Pinchard both came close before Camp eventually leveled the score. Pinchard then provided the assist for Alfie Rutherford’s goal that gave the visitors a halftime lead. Rutherford capitalized on a positive play by Louis Annesley, who managed to keep the ball in play, to put Dorking ahead.

The second half saw Dorking extend their lead quickly, with Dawid Rogalski scoring just six minutes after the restart. Rogalski seized space in the penalty area and struck emphatically to put his team 3-1 up.

The visitors sealed the result late in the game through Jack Wood, who delivered a spectacular solo effort in the 72nd minute. Wood advanced down the right flank, skillfully evaded three defenders, and curled a precise shot into the far corner beyond the goalkeeper’s reach.

Marc White’s Dorking Wanderers secured their fifth win of the campaign, maintaining momentum in the National League South, while Walton & Hersham face continued challenges as they seek their first points of the season.
